Dragonfly Tea

Dragonfly Teas is an award winning British company that has its origins in a long family tradition that goes back to 1832 St Petersburg, Russia. The family is known to be the orginators of Rooibos tea and first to offer Honeybush to the general public. Today Dragonfly source rare and exquisite teas from around the world.

Dragonfly Tea - Traditional Indian Chai

More Information   Supplier Information

Indian chai combines rich black tea with spices, often using an abundance of black pepper. Depending on taste, more expensive spices such as cardamom are used with less pepper. Mild Organic Dragonfly Traditional Indian Chai is blended specially with the European palate in mind with subtler, gentle (and expensive) spices such as cinnamon and cardamom. The result is an exotic aroma and flavour that is both soothing and refreshing to drink.

Dragonfly Tea - Cape Malay Rooibos Chai

More Information   Supplier Information

The smooth and gentle flavour of rooibos tea is blended with a unique combination of cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, chicory, cloves, black pepper and citrus peel. It’s a 300 year old Cape version of the traditional Indian chai that is enjoyed everywhere on that continent. Organic chai is natural and unsweetened, leaving it to you to add sugar or honey, and milk to taste (in India, it’s boiled with milk, often condensed milk). To enjoy at its best, infuse for 2 - 4 minutes in freshly boiled water. It is as refreshing in hot weather as it is warming in chillier times. Perhaps that’s why it’s so popular in India.

Dragonfly Tea - Mountian Honeybush

More Information   Supplier Information

Organic Honeybush tea has a delicate flavour and conveys in its taste the purity and freshness of the environment in which it is grown. Its honey-scented, smooth taste makes it an ideal tea at any time, but particularly restful at night when its calming aroma and flavour is the perfect start to a good night’s sleep. Its natural sweetness makes it a favourite with children who often reject stronger teas.

Dragonfly Tea - Cup-in-the-Sleeve Green

More Information   Supplier Information

Cup-in-the-Sleeve Green Tea has many subtle nuances of taste. It is light and mild in flavour with a soft robustness and has none of the bitterness sometimes associated with lesser green teas. Because it is only lightly processed, it has a fresh, bright taste. It is at its best when infused with freshly boiled water that has been allowed to just go off the boil. Allow to infuse for 2 to 3 minutes or according to your taste. Add water to the pot a second or third time to enjoy the subtle changes in flavour with each successive cup.

Dragonfly Tea - Moroccan Mint

More Information   Supplier Information

We blend fine, brisk gunpowder green tea with the natural sweet softness of genuine aromatic spearmint. Gunpowder tea is named for its appearance, dark green leaves rolled by hand into tiny pellets resembling 18th Century cartridge shot. Each individual leaf unfurls when the tea is brewed. We use spearmint, traditionally used in Morocco for its delicate, subtle aroma.

Dragonfly Tea - Moonlight Jasmine

More Information   Supplier Information

Organic Moonlight Jasmine has a light, delicate and faintly aromatic taste with a fragrance that lingers on the palate. It is fresh and floral in tone. It is a refreshing all-day drink and is good as a digestive compliment to food - and not just Chinese - it is particularly good with more oily foods. A word of caution - jasmine oil and artificial flavouring are sometimes added to lower-grade Jasmine teas to heighten the aroma. This practice ruins the delicate taste and character of the tea.

Dragonfly Tea - Swirling Mist White

More Information   Supplier Information

Swirling Mist White Tea is one of the great teas of China. Organic Swirling Mist White Tea brings the discerning drinker an exquisite range of flavour and aroma, both refreshing and subtle. It is light and fragrant with no bitterness. Its extremely mellow taste hides a hint of gentle sweetness. True connoisseurs add water again for a second or third cup when the tea reveals more of the nuances of its depth of flavours.
